For those of you watching your cholesterol...this is a great recipe....
Everyone knows that red meat is a no...no... for those trying to lower their cholesterol...if you cut red meat out of your diet it decreases your chances of plaque build up in the arteries of your heart "which by the way cause a heart attack"...in half...so here is my recipe :: you can substitute chicken if you don't like turkey...just no red meat...hehe
Turkey Meatloaf:
1 pound Ground Turkey/chicken
1 onion..diced
1 -2 stalks celery...diced
1 egg beater or if you want to be daring..1 egg
"italian style bread crumbs" or croutons about 1 cup-1 1/2 cups
1 tsp salt..." I always use garlic powder with just a pinch of salt" more flavor
1 tsp..Ground Pepper
preheat oven to: 350
mix all the above ingredients and either make one big meatloaf or baby meatloafs..."that's what I do...it decreases the cooking time and everyone can have their own..plus any left overs... it's easier to freeze." Place meatloaf/s in a casserole pan or roaster with a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of water..."oil is a no....no...." bake at 350 for 1/2 hour or until the inside is no longer pink.. and the tops of the meatloaf/s are golden brown..
Tip: I usually baste my meatloafs to keep them from getting dry during the cooking process...also sometimes I add more water.....
Give it a try...it's a fast meal and can be done ahead of time for those moms and dads on the run...OMG...I'm starting to sound like Martha Stewart...hehe" It's a good thing..." LOL
