Post subject: Is Jehovah an idiot...let's look at the facts

First, Let’s identify what would be classified as an idiot. Let’s say that you are inflicted with what I call the “Cassandra sense”, that is the ability to foresee the consequences of actions and the knowledge that once these actions have taken place, the consequences cannot be changed. Now you are perched astraddle a state-of-the-art trail bike, atop a ramp that towers 400 feet into the air and has a slope of 55 degrees and ends in a jumping ramp that will fling anything coming down the main ramp high in the air and far forward. It is your contention to ride your bike down this ramp and clear 150 busses, landing over 1 km away and at speeds well in excess of 96 KmPH . Your “Cassandra sense” tells you that if you do, you will break many bones, suffer numerous contusions and several concussion, spending nearly 2 pain wracked years healing and regaining your health. You know that there is no way to change the consequences of this action – YET YOU DO IT ANYWAY!!! That is an idiot!
Jehovah/YHWH/Yahweh knew that the creatures he was planning to create were defective. He knew that they would break his commandment and eat of the fruit of the tree. He knew that they would constantly fill him with wrath and he knew that not matter what, they would sin, sin, and sin again. Yet, he still created them – That is an idiot!
When mankind had become so sinful that he despaired ever rehabilitating them (he would have known beforehand that he never would have been able to) that he decided to destroy the world (as he already knew he would) to rid himself of them. He did find one small family that the figured he could rehabilitate (but he already knew that he would fail with their descendents) and made arrangements to save them and a certain number of animals (no provisions for plants, etc) by having them build a large ship and ride out the storms and waves of the “Great Flood” that he would cause. Now this in itself is very unfair to the myriad of innocent creatures. They are going to die because God hates mankind’s sinning ways. They haven’t done anything wrong and they have to suffer the same fate as Mankind? Now God is the creator of all, the great architect of the universe. He created RNA and DNA and made them the very building blocks of all life (except for maybe viruses – it they really are alive). Why did this “Great Scientist” use such a labor intensive method (after all, he had to rest after a mere 6 days of work before) of exterminating mankind, a method that wasn’t fair to the other species of animal and plant life. Why did he cause a flood which was indiscriminate in its killing, when he could simply have mutated a bacterium into a deadly species-specific plague, made it 100% deadly and then manipulated Noah and his family’s genes to make them immune. No transporting animals from all over the world, no killing innocents, no tremendous storms or gushing fountains, just a nice quick and quite death of one species out of millions! Instead he went with the flood – Now that is an idiot!
Now after a while, Noah’s descendants started back to a-sinning, just like before. So God comes up with this great plan. He is gonna come to earth, be born of a virgin, live a sinless life, preach love and understanding and get himself executed as a sacrifice to himself to absolve all mankind of sin. Afterward, all they would have to do is believe in him (as the human) and ask forgiveness of their sins and Voila – sins forgiven and they are going to “hebbin”! What is wrong with this picture? Hello, he is God, he does have to have himself sacrificed to himself to grant forgiveness. All he has to do is absolve mankind of their sins forever and ever…After all, he already had some pretty good systems in place to tell the folk what he expected of them (they were and are called religions and all pretty well teach the same things), so they would know what not to do and if they did to ask for forgiveness. Instead he goes with option one – sacrifice himself to himself so that he wouldn’t send his beloved creations to eternal torture for all eternity – Now that is an idiot.
I think you understand what an idiot is now – so carry on!
