Saliva!
That's right. If you stimulate saliva production by chewing gum or sucking on a lozenge, the saliva can relieve heartburn. Your saliva bathes the esophagus and lessens the effects of acid that has refluxed up from the stomach. For example, chewing sugarless gum for 30 minutes after meals stimulates saliva and eases acid reflux.
Orhter ways...
Baking soda
Put a tablespoon of baking soda into
a cup of water and mix it good then drink it down and instant success no more more heartburn for a couple days
Raisins
keep 10-15 raisins in yoour mouth.do not chew.let them be there .swallow the saliva secreted. burning sensation will stop in about 5 minutes!

While pregnant with my first I suffered a hiatus hernia from the pressure put on my stomach (I was MASSIVE...) I was drinking Gaviscon like milk - it does no good for me. It's eased a bit over the years but my valve is stil pretty weak so I get acid reflus just from bending down or lying on my back. Gaviscon works by forming a floating "block" on the acid. I find that lying down (esp. on the back) negates the effect.
I've tried just about everything (all the saliva does is try to choke me LOL) and the only thing I find works is to lie on my left side. I read somewhere that the top of the stomach is actually towards the right and if you lie on your left side it reduces the amount of acid that can come up. It works for me anyway
Edit: oh and I also eat dry foods such as crackers and bread, I've found that helps to soak it up. _________________

For heartburn - My daughter was born with "Acid Relflux disease"....no matter what the doctor gave her for it...it didn't work...So...I went to my dad for advice..he has had acid reflux for many years...
Lay on your left side when you sleep but, make sure that your bed is elevated at the top where your head rests...that keeps the stomach juices from coming up into the esophagus.. Also avoid spicy foods, dairy products in excess will also cause heartburn...and pay close attention to the foods that trigger the heartburn and avoid them..everyone is different.
For upset stomach.....if you dare to try it....it's actually not too bad and if your that sick you just want the nausea to go away...LOL
1 glass water..not too cold
3-4 Tablespoons Cider Vinegar
now this is the fun part...
Add 1/4 teaspoon Baking soda...stir with a spoon and quickly drink it all down before the fizzing stops....
Now...there is a downside to this...If you drink this...it will either settle your stomach or......you will throw up immediately...most times it settles it...
Vinegar counter acts the acid in your stomach..it will also shrink the stomach....and if vinegar and baking soda are mixed it's what creates the fizz...hehe..my dad calls this the "Hangover cocktail"...LOL..I've tried it and it works for me.... _________________ Never fear the dead, fear the living, they are more dangerous...."Trust Me" |

You must first determine what is causing the heartburn.
1. Is it the food your eating? Must change eating habits.
2. Is it the h pyloria bacteria? Anti bioitcs or possibly tree tar.
3. Too much stress? Exericse and diet.
4. Have a EKG just to be safe. Rule out heart problems.
I had h pyloria that I picked up in Mexico. There is a tree tar that can possibly work that but I had to use anit biotics. Don't let the heart burn go on for ever. It can cause damage.
