Vandals Urinate Into Blackstone Water System

(Blackstone, MA) -- Blackstone town officials are confirming that two teenage boys charged with vandalizing the town's water system last month urinated into the water tank. The system serves nearly nine-thousand people in Blackstone, Massachusetts and more than 80 homes in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. The water tank was taken out of service right away, and the system has been flushed and disinfected. Rhode Island Health Department spokesperson Maria Wah Fitta says the water is perfectly safe to drink. Two 15-year-old boys are facing charges of trespassing, malicious damage, and polluting a public water supply. A 15-year-old girl who allegedly accompanied the boys to the Bellingham Road location is charged with trespassing.<
