Post subject: unique or coincidental?
okay... as many of you might know, i'm a pretty big skeptic when it comes to anything and everything. but i will not deny that i have had some extremely odd experiences. you guys can make of them what you like. let me know what you think, as i haven't a clue what to think myself. am i "gifted"? or are these coincidences? you all decide...
okay, first let me start off with dreams. i have only really had three major instances in which dreams came true. all of them, oddly enough, have been linked to one friend, with whom i am no longer close, sadly. they also all happened when she was out of town.
-she had gone to canada, where it is almost always snowing at the time of year they went. i dreamt that she did not get any snow the entire two weeks she was up there visiting. i woke up, thought it was odd because it always snows up there, and dismissed it as a weird dream. on her way home, she called me and immediately started complaining about the fact that they hadn't gotten any snow, despite the fact that it was canada and winter time.
-she went with some family friends on a trip to the mountains. i dreamt that myself and people around me were dying of cancer. she came back and was discussing her trip with me, and mentioned that another close family friend of theirs had died of cancer and they had gotten the call on the trip. apparently, the woman died the same night i had that dream. probably just coincidence.
-the last and perhaps most convincing instance occurred one year when she went to the beach. i had a dream that she came back with a cast on her arm. i woke up, decided it was just a crazy dream, and left it at that. she came back with a cast on her arm, as she broke her finger while boogey boarding.
that concludes the dreams. onto other odd experiences...
-my first impressions of people are spot-on approximately 99% of the time
-i can often feel others emotions as if they were my own
-i can analyze a person after talking to them for only a few minutes.
-at one point in time, i was getting ready for school and walked to the end of my driveway to wait for my bus. at the end of the driveway, a sudden wave of nausea swept over me. i was almost convinced i was going to be sick to my stomach. it passed after a few seconds, though, so i decided i would go ahead and go to school. a little ways down the road, we stopped at a house where three girls normally get on the bus. only two got on. i heard someone ask where the other girl was, and they replied that she had not been feeling well, had gotten to the end of her driveway, and threw up. so she decided to stay home.
and then there is my incredible connection with animals. a few little stories:
-across from my grandmother's house, there is a field full of cows. there is a very aggressive bull in that field. my mom has always warned me not to get too close. anyhow, one day i went up to the side of the fence to say hi to the cows and such, and the bull came walking up. by the end of my visit with them, the bull let me give him a kiss on the nose and i was scratching his ears. however, when anyone else got within a ten foot radius of him, he would paw at the ground and charge them.
-there was a bird loose in my classroom. no one could catch it, and it would fly away anytime someone got close enough to do so. i walked in the classroom, saw the bird, and went over and picked it up and released it outside, unaware that they had been chasing it for quite some time.
the only other really odd incident that has occured would be one time when there was a storm near my house. anyone that knows me, knows that i am terrified of storms. suddenly, there was a flash of lightning and a loud boom of thunder. i was absolutely petrified and jumped about a mile in the air. as i did that, the door to my room SLAMMED shut. there was nothing to have caused this, unless the pressure in the house could have changed in some way. my sisters and mom were in the other room, and there weren't any pets in the house that could have done it.
my boyfriend and i have been dating for nearly two years now. there have been MANY occurances where we simply said "i'll talk to you tomorrow" and never gave a time to call or anything. then, i'll pick up the phone and decide i want to talk to him. i'll get a busy signal and try again. he'll answer and we'll discover, to our surprise, that we were trying to call one another at the exact same moment, despite the fact that we hadn't ever agreed to any specific time to call. there are 24 hours a day... what are the odds of two people deciding to call one another at the exact same second of the exact same day? pretty slim... and furthermore, it has happened dozens of times.
well, okay... i suppose that's about it. so what do you all think? am i crazy? is it coincidence? or is it something more? _________________ "The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible" -Oscar Wilde

I don't think you're crazy. I too have had many of the experiences you describe.
When I was little I had a recurring nightmare that I was trapped under rubble and there were lots of brown skinned people about (I was about 6 or 7) After about a week of this nightmare I saw pictures on the news about an earthquake in the East somewhere (India I think) the pictures were identical to my dream. I also had a dream that I had an accident in a red car. My boyfriend at the time had a maroon Ford Escort. A couple of days later we were travelling down a country road and the back suspension strut snapped and nearly put us into a field.
I also can "read" people like you can, and feel their emotions. My husband and I are always saying the same thing at the same time; we met online and it was a running joke in the chatroom we met in. Since we met in person and got married we still do that in real life. We'll try and call each other at the same time, we'll start relating a story that happened that day and the other will have had something almost exactly the same happen.
One of the little games we play online in the regular chat room I go in is I'll try and guess new people's personalities from their font style. It's quite fun as I normally get the answer "OMG how did you know all that?!?" _________________
Why try so hard to fit in when you were born to stand out?
I'm going to say you are unique...As are a lot of people. Myself and my family all have the ability to know when something is just not right with one of us..
For instance...I have a sister "mary" that is 10 yrs older than me..circumstances in our everyday lives tend to keep us from staying in touch on a daily, weekly etc. basis..But for some reason we can sense when something is just not right with the other..and will call eachother to find out that yep something is wrong.
Another instance...About a year ago..one of my other sisters.."Yeah I have a big family"..This particular sister "Cathy" is from out of state and I see her maybe once a year and only talk to her on the phone in emergency cases..."I know sad"..but last year around this time she calls me out of the blue and tells me she had a bad dream about me and had thought about me all day...hoping that I was ok...I told her I was fine and asked her what the bad dream was about...she started to say...Is there a really dense wooded area where you live or close by ...is there water...like as you go down a road...I told her yeah right up the road...ok..so she tells me that she dreamed that I had been in a horrific car accident and was killed...she also said that I was in a black car..."I don't own a black car" ...She said that in her dream..my mother had called and gave her the bad news..I reassured her and then we talked a bit and hung the phone up...I called my mom later in the day and she said...."You just be careful"...so at this point I'm thinking Yeah ok...whatever..
2 days later...went to my sister in laws..and then to see fireworks in the evening...one of my other sisters "mag" was at the carnival as were other family members...well it seems that another sister "Helen" was trying to reach us but couldn't cuz the firework noise..
I go home with my family and 2 nieces decided to stay over...we get in the house..and the phone rings...its the sister that was at the carnival "Mag"..crying hysterically...she told me that My sister "Helen's" son was killed in a car accident "In a wooded area...in a black car...he had not been driving and was the only one killed out of 4 boys.none of the other passengers had a scratch on them...she said she had been trying to reach us but couldn't get in touch so she called sister"Cathy" The one that had the nightmare about me....now she is the oldest and is looked at as a mother figure to all of us...so...a few days later "Cathy" came home for the memorial service....looks right at me and says " I guess it wasn't you"....now is that a coincidence or did she actually have a premonition of the event? You be the judge
Also.when my grandma died...me and my sister lived together..."We were still teenagers at the time" Now my grandma had been in the hospital at the time and was scheduled to come home the next day...at approximately 4:55 a.m. I wake up and start running for the phone and run right into my sister...and then the phone starts to ring...It hadn't been ringing up until that point..it's my mother on the phone saying that grandma took a turn for the worst and hurry...we got to the hospital and she was already gone...so....why run for a phone that isn't ringing??? I really don't know why things like this happen but it does give you a sense that well....some people are more sensitive to things than others or that some people chalk things up to coincidence and others look a little deeper for answers......El Bandito _________________ Never fear the dead, fear the living, they are more dangerous...."Trust Me"

Wow that's really cool/wierd/useful sorta thing to have. The only sort of thing i have that with are my dogs, ha i have a strong connection with all of them. The day slimey died i said to my friend on the bus to school "I should really go visit her, i miss her' (she was in my brother's care) pity i dont take my own advise. I think it might have something to do with human intuition or something, i know lots of people that have things like that happen.
