wow. it certainly has been far too long since i've been here. almost all summer, to be exact. i am so sorry, everyone. i do realize that i have pretty much abandoned all online activities. work, the boyfriend, and the family have been getting in the way of my computer time. darned them. :P haha.
anyway, i just wanted to let you all know that i am back and will be doing my best to catch up on all of the things i have missed. please post and let me know if anything major has gone on!
as far as my life goes... eh, a lot of stuff has gone on. i ended up breaking up with my boyfriend of two years and then getting back together with him. i adopted a dog that had been thrown out of a car on a highway. my parents are in the middle of a nasty custody battle over myself and my two sisters... and there is more drama within my family than i care to explain. lol.
anyhow, i do apologize very very much for my unexplained absence. several people at work have quit or gotten fired, so they have been working me pretty much fulltime. plus the family/ boyfriend trouble and the ongoing fight with depression, and i've found little time for anything anymore. hope you all have been doing well! i look forward to catching up with you.

In the UK if custody is challenged at all they ask the children for their opinion from quite a young age. My husband's daughter is 8 and when we went through court to gain access to see her, they took her wish to have contact with her dad into account. _________________

thanks, ger.
and vincent, i am 16... no, you aren't being nosey at all. i'm not too shy about my age, though i hope people still take me seriously knowing that i'm not exactly an adult persay.
my sisters, however, are only 11 and 9. it's them i'm concerned about. _________________ "The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible" -Oscar Wilde

I understand why you're worried now. I'm presuming you've spoken to your mum and told her you all want to live with her rather than your dad? I'm sure if all three of you along with your mum insist you want to stay with your mum then it should be taken into account. _________________

Younger than I would have thought.
Age does not always make one an and you seem older (on line anyway)

Suggestion ONLY.
The local friend of the courts....here in Michigan has what is called a "childs advocate". Their job is to look out for the childs (not calling you a child but thinking of your siblings) best interests. Check and see if there is anything like that in your area and if there is tell them your concerns. _________________ NATIVE AMERICAN WISDOM |

When scientists scan the global horizon, over-fishing, loss of species habitat, water shortage, climate change, and invasive① species seem to be the biggest threats to the Earth.
What will our world be like in 2050?
Population decrease and increase
wow power leveling
There are two features in the growth of world population. First, the annual increase in population in 15 European countries, in the past few years, has been only 300,000. The United Nations estimates that by 2050, the population of European countries will decrease from the current 0.72 billion to 0.63 billion. Second, the population in developing countries is growing rapidly. Over the past 50 years, the rate of increase in population has been fastest in the least developed countries. By 2050, the population of Africa is expected to reach 1.8 billion, 0.9 billion more than its current population.
world of warcraft power leveling
Global warming
A recent research report indicates that it is quite possible that the Earth’s temperature is rising well above the previous estimate. Such an result would have severe consequences.
A research team from the University of Colorado used satellite data to estimate that the ice sheet will lose up to 48 cubic miles by 2050. In comparison, a city with the size of Los Angeles uses one cubic mile of fresh water every year. Ice shelves in the Antarctic will have decreased by more than 7,200 square miles in the next four decades.
Water shortage
aoc power leveling
Africa’s rivers face dramatic change that will leave a quarter of the continent severely short of water by the middle of the century.
“In those areas where there is already a water shortage, it’s going to have a devastating② effect,” the study says. “If you’re already walking 5 km to the nearest stream to get water, by 2050, it’s going to mean walking 30 km or moving your whole household closer to the water source.”
Four wheels good, four wheels bad
The car has transformed the lives of people, but the planet is paying too high a price. Today there are 620 million private cars worldwide, to say nothing of buses, vans and lorries. With current growth trends, that number is expected to reach a staggering③ three billion cars worldwide by 2050.
If we continue to burn fossil fuels at current rates, levels of carbon dioxide④ in the atmosphere will reach 550 ppm (parts per million) by around 2050. This will increase global temperatures between 1.4 and 4.8℃ by 2050, and sea levels will rise between 0.09 and 0.78 meters.

Global Warming is a political ploy to take control of everyday life...it is actually cooler now than it was 5 years ago. |

You've had a nightmare, but glad you came back here. Good place to be
I think I'm the most recent Mod and have been in and out of things as Geri knows this Friday I am taking over my own pub. I must be mad
But hopefully before too long Geri will have posted some photos of her and Becky visiting England (to stay at the pub with me) and as we have a sweet little monkey place nearby, I sense some great photos from said visit xxx
Stay positive rose_ashes, and really sorry it's been so poo in 2009
