Post subject: our beloved geri berri

Our beloved geri berri has been diagnosed with colon cancer, she has been told by her doctor that her prognosis is really good, it was detected early... this is a prayer good thoughts thread too. it just can't hurt....Our love is with you and your family geri we love you :smt050   I think with support and a good optimistic attitude anything is possible and our fiesty berri definitely has that......

Aww thanks Michael, Bebi, JMD & of course Vincent with his great poems...this means a lot ot me
I hope to get word soon..however the NHHS is not always quick ...if I where a private patient..maybe I would get word sooner...but I'd like to think that if they have caught this on time...they might hurry up...ohh well I just have to wait I guess...so far its been almost a week or so now...i'll give them a few more days and if I havent had word..I am calling my doc to see whats holding them back
I cant wait till its all over..no more dreading using the bathroom

GeriB, I'm sorry to hear about your illness. The world of medicine has come a long way in the treatment of cancer. I know that you will be fine. Keep your great sense of humor and your heart light. Becky needs you to be strong and happy.

Geri did the doctors tell you that smoking was to blame?
I have a history of breast lumps in my family, every female on my mother's side has had some form of breast problem and/or cancer at some point in their lives. My consultant totally ignored my family history and toldme the only reason I had a breast lump was because I smoked. I asked him why nearly 10 women in my family who didn't smoke were affected with the same problem and he didn't quite know what to say...
(yes, I know smoking's bad - yadda yadda - but hey I'm an adult and it's my choice - plus passive smoking is virtualy non-existant over the internet LOL)

Your thoughts are certainly with me, although I have great confidence fate will compensate you for who you have become.
