well, first he asked his mom to try and find him a girl, but all she found were his sisters.......
Seriously, I could never quite accept the biblical story for that very reason. "A & E were the first people. They had kids. Now, if there were no other people in existance, does that mean that the boys and girls were marrying their siblings?
Or even more disturbing..... were they getting it on with mom and dad?
And the hard core who say "well there were other people...." kind of contradict their own religious book.
Either A&E were the first, OR they were merely the first of their tribe/village and there were other tribes/villages in existance.
OR, is it unwritten but implied that A&E were the first, and that god then created others. But if so, why isn't this mentioned in the bible? I mean, Genesis goes on for pages about how god created the dirt, the rocks, the flowers that bloom, the plants that produce fruit, etc etc, wouldn't the creation of other couples warrant at least a line or two?
Just my humble opinion, not meant to offend any who believe _________________ Masks reveal what they conceal. Indeed, a person does not hide behind a mask so much as struggle beneath the weight of it.

Fascinating article Silver
I once found a JW talking to my son at the garden gate - Anthony was about 4 - I went mental at him. He assumed that because he was a JW it didn't matter if he spoke to a young child without a parent present (?!) and couldn't comprehend the fact that I didn't want my son preached to about a subject that I personally don't believe in... He even offered my son leaflets while I was there and looked affronted when I told him no thanks.
I must admit I am sooo tempted to knock on the door of our local JW headquarters and ask them if they're interested in Paganism... _________________

Personaly, I don't think Adam and Eve ever existed. Just a story like every other story in many other culture's lifelines. _________________ I'll work on this when I feel compelled. And not lazy |

Well yes.. if you buy into the stories.
That does not mean they took their sisters as wives. _________________ I'll work on this when I feel compelled. And not lazy |

well incest was a done thing in the bible theirs countrless storys concerning it. The thing is though when you translate cain and abel into hebrew their names actually have proper meaning, and when you do that you see there wasnt actually some guy called cain or abel, they were simply brought to life in the form of people to help explain the story a little better and give it some, credibility or understanding. People can identify with characters in a book more than they can identify with ancient hebrew philosophy about the folly of reality and damning yourself to wander a dream land for eternity. _________________ No churchman am I for to rail and to write,

Well its just mythology, Greeks had been doing this kinda stuff for centuries, they realised people would probably listen to it a bit more if they made their philosophies into movies basicaly, well plays but same difference if you see what i mean. Its just that so many fanatics have a tendancy to actually take it seriously and believe these epople existed and generaly ignore the meaning behind it. Thats when the alarm bells start goin off for me.
