Post subject: What is it with religious folks
|
|
|
I have just come out of another forum and for the love of Berri...why can't religious people (most of them) see past the nose on their face??? Half of them can't fecking read diddly  The read pretty much like their bible and look at seleted parts and then go for a rant.
I am sick and tired of having to highlight and make lil arrows pointing to what I have really said and not what the dumb mofo's have accussed me of saying grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...and they ignore parts of a post where you would make a quick joke and type after it --> J/K btw....they block this out and have a go at your post anyhoo wtf????I mean what part of just kidding don't they understand???? and if you are a christian...like your religion you must take the part of a fellow christian...as if you are a member of the Borg Collective  like they are ONE and speak for ALL LOL
At least the NB's speak different from eachother and can think from outside of the box, on their own
This has been a GB Rant

They merely do not know how to ask questions yet. They are in a conventional/sociocentric psychological development level where they rely on a higher power or unearthly creation to lead them through their life. They always tend to be followers and never vere off on their own. Whatever the higher up tells them to do, they obey without any hinderance whatsoever.
It is not until they trancend to the rational psychological development level where they begin to ask questions and look past those who pave the road in front of them. It is here where they begin to research outside religious or cultural world and broaden their knowledge of themselves and the world around them. If you look into work by Ken Wilber, he goes deep into psychological development and exactly why people think and live the way they do. It is funny after either reading his books or listening to his audio books, that you can see exactly where people fit in their development. These books can also be a very beneficial enlightenment on our own development as well. Good Read!! _________________ Who am I, you ask--who am I not, I reply. I AM. |

Oh man, Ken Wilber has written so many books. But I guess to get a good sense of his main ideal would be to read either 'Integral Psychology' or 'Sex, Ecology, and Spirituality'. The audio book that he did that also sums up his books is called 'Kosmic Consciousness'.
If you do a search by his name you will find several sites that have been started by him. One is called IntegralNaked.org where Ken gathers many of the great minds around the world together to dicuss Spirituality among many other things. His Integral Model is focused on integrating all of the Spirtuality teaching around the world to find the most solid foundation of psychological development from an infant to transpersonal or enlightenment. He has been considered the modern Einstein of Spirituality and Consciousness. |

| I think it is a matter of selective hearing...or reading. People need to pay more attention to what others have to say. That goes for forums and in life in general. |

LOL, At a seminar recently, the subject of gay marriage came up. The woman seated next to me, who I know has a child born out of wedlock, stood up and commented that "god hates gays and they shouldn't be allowed to marry because it goes against the bible". I quickly stood up and said "Yeah, anyone who does anything against the bible should be ostracized" Then looked at her and said"By the way, how is that baby of yours....?" She shut up, sat down, and didn't say another word for two hours, although, her face was as red as a beet. >evil grin<
I hate hypocrites. Then I told the town council that they nor anyone else has any say in who may or may not be married, as long as both parties are of legal age. I was damn near tarred and feathered by the red neck-green teeth brigade. Serves me right for moving to the sticks........ _________________ Masks reveal what they conceal. I completely understand this feeling dear. This is how I am feeling this week although I've tried to look past it.
I am surrounded by the fundamental christian community and no offense to those of faith but I am losing my patience. I allow my own children to attend church with my ex-husband. My daughter came home yesterday and told me that the sunday school teacher told her that the Muslim religion was bad, etc....
Needless to say I called the church and just got off the phone with the minister to children who strangely enough was once my friend. She began quoting scripture to me and telling me that she didn't think it promoted religious intolerance or prejudice to tell kids that someone else's religion was bad. This she said was biblical.
Yes, I cannot escape the bible or the faith. However I told her that Jesus would not promote judgement...she didn't respond. I respect faith however I'm finding it really hard to have rational conversation with someone who only excepts scripture. Its like a record player to me with no free thought. I'm feeling discouraged.... :o
