I can't wait for this to come out in the UK, the TV trailers look great. Anyone in the US seen it already?

| I haven't seen this one yet but I will. I've always loved good horror movies. I recently saw "Wolf Creek" and I must say it was really disturbing and hard to watch. I think it might actually be a while after that one before I can bring myself to watch another one. |

Yep, this is the problemo with Vid-game movies... They generally suck! The same goes with most comic book movies... Aliens V Predator and Resident Evil, both directed by Paul W.S. Anderson sucked... Bloodrayne and Alone in the Dark, both directed by Uwe Boll sucked! I think i'm starting to see a pattern here! That's why i was pleasantly suprised by Silent Hill;
Jay's Quick Review
Basically, this film is very messed up. It combines the best elements of Japanese Horror with some of the gorier aspects of American horror. Many critics have given the film bad reviews; claiming that it doesn't make sense and that we don't know what's going on... But of course they haven't played the games... Which is what I suggest you do; because the plot to SH1 and the film are almost identical... Many questions are left unanswered at the end of the film, but we are encouraged to make up our own conclusions...
The monsters all bear some sort of significance to the back story of the film, just as they did in the games
All in all, i'd say it is a good film, and definately reccomend it _________________

I love films like that - far too much stuff nowadays is aimed at people who just don't want to think about what they're watching, they just want to sit and be passively entertained. The way I rate a good film/tv program is if it gets you questioning it and digging deeper. Hubby and I often miss whole chunks of programs because we're having a debate on what we've just seen lol
Sadly I've still not seen it but I am intending to.
