I've been a bit of a hobo myself
But have been having great chats with a pal as I've come back from travelling away for many years.
Most memorable place ever I lived was on Crete. Awesome place. I lived years ago in a little village called Elounda. Now subject of the bestselling novel "The Island" due to this incredibly historic island just off the land. Totally haunted and utterly mesmerising. With a history that would fill a thousand books. I fully expect it to be totally reinhabited and therefore ruined by the mass destruction of unfettered and badly managed tourism
Spinalonga is magical and mystical, a very special place. I miss living in Elounda, it was beautiful

Wose? Washington DC...best - torn between UK and Greece...both were the extreme for a history buff...Loved England for the connections to my ancestry and Greece for the history of the Western world
