Oprah Winfrey to End TV Talk Show
Richard Huff of the Chicago Daily News is reporting that Oprah Winfrey will end her daily talk-show in September 2011.
"Winfrey's team Thursday notified stations that carry the show, along with other companies connected to Harpo Productions that the decision was made. Locally, WABC/Ch. 7 broke the news on-air and on its website:
"Tomorrow, Oprah will announce live on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' that she has decided to end what is arguably one of the most popular, influential and enduring programs in television history,' Harpo president Tim Bennett said in the letter, which told stations to share the news...
"The sun will set on the 'Oprah' show as its 25th season draws to a close on September 9, 2011."
she is the Queen of Daytime and Phil Donahue is the King. both American institutions.
sad that so many men ( and a few women ) are insecure about her to even the point of hateful remarks. _________________ "The less secure a man is, the more likely he is

Never watched her, never watched him...have better use of my time that vicariously watching an average person of average intellect expound upon things they have no real concept of. I can spend my time much more productively than that.

but would you be a more rounded person ? remember .. there is book smart and life dumb. plenty of average people are alot 'smarter' than those that think they are above average. and if you've never watched you can't say there wasn't something off those shows that would have taught you something new. you just assume. _________________ "The less secure a man is, the more likely he is

I go by what my wife has seen on the show...she is not really impressed with either of them. I am not impressed with someone that made their millions/billions off the American people and then do their major charity work in other countries (Oprah, Gates, etc). This was her chance to really make a great stride for the afro american portion of the nation, but she chose South Africa...go figger

gee your wife must not know much about her either. Just talking points from those who have already made a judgment without knowing.
Not much use for a person who turns their back on the folk that made her famous...if she wanted to help someone, what is wrong with the disadvanaged and very deserving American youngsters...why not give back to those that gave to you?
