Post subject: Congratulations......... To me

Today, September 21, 2006, marks the 20th anniversary of my wedding to the most beautiful, compassionate woman on the planet:
My wife Barbara.
Fates and luck willing, we will share the next 20 together.

Congratulations on 20 great years together with you and your wife. I wish you the best on the next 20 years.
I wish I had a women. My girl, who I'm seeing works so damn much, I can barely see her. She is beutifull though, so it's worth the stress.

It seems like fewer today are making it to 20 months let alone 20 years.

well lets see.
Off the top of my head:
Communicate - meaning you have talk AND listen to each other.
Consideration - don't take your partner, or their contirbution to the marriage for granted.
Resolution - Try to never go to bed angry with each other. Stay up until dawn if you must, but resolve conflicts.
Share the workload. If you see laundry needs to be done, or dishes washed, then do it. There is no "womans work" in a house. If you get home first, cook dinner for the family. Buy her flowers, for no reason at all. Never leave the house without saying "I love you"
And, for you guys, if you ever find yourself being right in a disagreement, apologize at once!

I have been preaching those very things to Gary for years
I told him...it's all about listening...showing consideration ect..........but sadly he doesn't think so
As for going to bed angry...Gary believes its good to do this..and thinks that once returned from work..not to mention it...just act like nothing happens...yea like that makes it all better lol
anyhoo JMPD...its not every day I read or hear a man say what you have just said
So because you firmly believe in those good things...this is WHY your marriage is so special..and has lasted....because you believe in them and so does your wife............good for you

Sorry I missed the occasion Wanted to say "Congratulations..even though it's late sorry" ...but totally agree with everything you said JMPD....I have been married for almost 11 yrs..to a wonderful man..and yes...we believe in communication...and never going to bed angry and always....always say I love you before you leave in the morning..or in my case evening...Also we share the workload of the home..It balances everything out for us...A couple who shares all aspects of the marriage usually stay together because of a good foundation...a sharing of one life...So glad to hear that you have one of those marriages...
