Post subject: ARE YOU A POST - A- HOLIC?

Are you a post-a-holic??
Do you spend more than 3 - 5 hrs or more + on line??
Do you find yourself rushing home from work & school, just to respond to others on line?
Do you eat your dinner whilst at your PC?
Do you find yourself thinking about certian posts and what others have said?
Do you wind up crawling into bed around 3 or 4 am + and give yourself only 3 hours sleep or so?
Do you hear people talking about certain new movies and tv programmes and you sit there thinking..WTF are they talking about??
Do you think that becoming a mod of a forum, is much better than getting a new job..it means so much more lol?
Have you put off school work and studies, just to post on line? (I know someone that has)
Have you ever thought to yourself...OMG if this site I post on gets shut down, I will just die!!??
Has it ever gotten to the stage whre you found yourself actually dreaming of posts...you could almost read posts in your dreams??
Have you ever panicked when your broadband or other internet connection broke down..you almost freaked out..and panicked to get on line??
Have you sat on line like an hour or so before getting out for school or work, just to make a quick few posts or send a few PM's to others?
Have you snuck on to your employers internet and posted when no one was around?
If you have done asome or nearly all of the above..then seriously you are a post - a -holic LOL
I have done a lot of those things..I did it for years...it ruined my realationship ect...I let myself get addicted and it took over my life.....when I stayed away from the internet alltogether to look after my little girl...i got used to my old life again...and found that there where important things in life to enjoy
The internet chatrooms and forums do NOT put food on my table nor does it pay my mortgage...it doesnt show love like little hugs and kisses that I would get from my little girl....when I come home from a bad day...it doesnt cheer me up or greet me with a smile....yet it was so easy to get hooked on to.
There are people that just post now and again..and those people STILL find time for their own family and friends...those same people get more involved with family and their jobs and wouldnt care if the whole internet shut down..to them, its not the end of the world.....I intend to be one of those.....
I intend to post when I can..but spend time with my family and friends...
I have things at present to look forward to...things that this time last year...I never had.........so I intend to post but also show my family and friends I am here for them too....that way, I can never get into fights about who negletcs who ect
My new motto is...live the best of BOTH worlds (on line and home life)
Don't be like I was..HOOKED and a drone to the real world LOL

Its funny that you should bring this up......
Lately I have become dissatisfied, disenchanted, and distracted from forums.
Many are nothing but gab fests between friends; mutual glad handing arenas; and mostly, they lack any real depth or meaning.
I am currently curtailing my net activites, and am looking for something more than just idle gossip or meaningless chatter to occupy my on-line time.
I wish you all the very best, and hope to see y'all sometime.
Take care of yourselves, and each other.

I haven't been around for a while ...Like all of you..I do have a life other than the internet...I keep one personal friend close Rhyknow!! ...I try to stay in touch with him...But other than that...I have a busy life that needs my attention..at all times...If I have time to be online..then I am..if not I won't..I do have priorities in my life...and family....career...etc...are those priorities...
I know exactly what you all are talking about...and your right Gerri...some people can get so caught up in the internet that they neglect the things that matter most in their life...I think I even told you one time that children grow soooo quickly ..enjoy Becky while she is young cuz that time will go by soooo quickly...trust me..I've watched 3 children grow and not really need me anymore..but I was always there for them...and we have a very close relationship...Time well spent in my life...I wouldn't have missed it for the world...
I'm not on here all the time...but when I find something interesting to post I do so...other than that...I'm with my family.and at my job...

I am going to be working on my christmas stock and will be busy coming up to christmas...may not get on to post even on UM

I'm sort of addicted. till bored and need time off.
but I always learn something. It makes me read tons of news and various opinions from various countries . I think it makes me a better person.
