If you are RH negative, and your husband is RH positive, there is a possibility your child could be RH positive. This can cause you to become Rh sensitized. You could make antibodies that circulate inside your system that don't harm you, but attack the blood of your RH positive baby. This can cause hemolytic disease of the newborn. It can also make your baby very anemic before birth.
If you are RH negative, in your 28th week, your doctor will most like administer a shot of RhoGAM. RhoGAM is a product that is made from human blood. It will prevent sensitization before delivery. RhoGAM will also be given to you within 72 hours of birth if your baby is RH positive. If your baby is RH negative, you will not need the second RhoGAM shot.
This is also the time when you may be asked to have the glucose-tolerance testing done. You will have some blood drawn, then will be asked to drink some very sweet cola type liquid. Then, in an hour, you will have blood drawn again. This test is the indicator for gestational diabetes.
SYMPTOMS YOU MAY EXPERIENCE
Breast Changes, tenderness, fullness, darkening of the areola

The Baby:
Your baby is now fully formed. If she were born now, she would have a good chance of survival, even though her systems would still be very immature. She weighs about 2.4 pounds and about 15.25 inches long.
