If you are a first time parent, now is a good time to start considering a pediatrician for your newborn. Pediatricians specialize in the care of baies and children. They will give your baby a complete check over very soon after his birth. It's important to find a pediatrician that supports the parenting methods you do. Many pediatricians will schedule a consultation appointment so you can get to know them.

Prepare a list of questions that are important to you to ask during that meeting. Some you might want to consider are:

How do you feel about formula/breastfeeding? (depending on your choice of feeding)

When do you recommend solid foods? weaning?

How often are your well baby visits?

Vaccinations? If you are against vaccination, it's important to find a doctor that will support you.

After hours procedures?

Calls during the business day? When are they returned? Is it a doctor or a nurse?

Fees? Are they providers on your insurance? Do they bill or will you have to?

Ask your friends, fellow church members, co-workers etc for recommendations for a doctor in your area.
SYMPTOMS YOU MAY EXPERIENCE

Breast Changes, tenderness, fullness, darkening of the areola
Frequent Urination
Constipation
Indigestion or heartburn
Occasional headaches
Stretch Marks (cocoa butter can help with these)

The Baby:
From 2.5 - 3 inches long and from .5-.7 ounces, that's how big your little one is now. Baby's face is now starting to look like, well, a baby. The eyes move closer together, and the ears move to the normal places. Baby's head which is currently about half the length of the crown to rump measurement, begins to slow down. By the time baby is born, his head will be about 1/4 of the total length. This week, baby's intestines, which have been developing outside the body in the umbilical cord, will be drawn into the abdominal cavity.

As for me I never suffered from headaches...but I did suffer heartburn a lot LOL
